This line asks you to select the number of minor children for whom child support is being awarded. In counting the number of children do not include any child who is over eighteen (18) and should have already finished high school. Do not include stepchildren or children from another relationship or marriage unless such children have been adopted by the spouse who is not the natural parent of the children.

The form does not allow you to enter more than six (6) children because Utah child support guidelines do not provide specific support tables for more than six (6) children. If you have more than six (6) children, select six (6) children on the form. Utah courts will not generally award less child support in such cases than the expected support for six (6) children (although they may award more support).
